I have a somewhat peculiar approach to reviewing films that I should address upfront. My reviews are attempts to qualify my art-experiences (or lack thereof). The hypothetical value of objective analysis that many academic and ‘professional’ reviewers undertake have little interest for me. I am not here to suppose what you might like and then evaluate the film’s value on that merit, rather I am here to state that for at least one person these films resonate in a genuine sense. With my subjective arsenal at my disposal I describe the experience of the film and occasionaly veer off into the assumptions of how and why this may have happened. The only way my reviews may be of any practical use to you is if we share some common ground in our aesthetic tastes, and for a clearer account of my tastes I refer you to my thoughts on the subject here.
